Vacherie man killed in motorcycle crash [Video]

A Sunday night motorcycle crash has left a Vacherie man dead and another in a hospital.

State police say it happened around 8 p.m. Sunday on LA 20 near LA 18.

According to investigators, Lansing Octave was struck by a car when he tried to turn his motorcycle left into a private driveway. Investigators say Octave drove into the car’s path, causing the crash. Octave was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, while a passenger suffered moderate injuries. The passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
