SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – Smith County announced that members from the veteran-centered nonprofit, Team Rubicon, will be helping clean up after storm damage and debris in Smith County on Saturday.

According to a release, the disaster relief nonprofit will have a team of 15-20 volunteers to aid in cleanup following severe storms that left many houses, trees and roads damaged. The team of volunteers is reportedly being led by Jeff Mashburn, a retired Longview police officer and retired Smith County sheriff’s deputy.
“Our core capabilities are chain saw teams, roof tarping, cleaning up flooded homes and managing volunteers who want to help,” Marshburn said.
According to the county, Marshburn said that he and his team will only be going to properties that have reported their damages to the Texas Department of Emergency Management. For this reason Smith County encouraged any residents with damages …
