Victim in deadly Kaneohe hit-and-run crash identified, suspect still at large | Crime & Courts [Video]

The Honolulu Medical Examiner has identified the woman killed in a pedestrian crash in Kaneohe as 32-year-old Tasha Nicole Madela.

HONOLULU (Island News) — The Honolulu Medical Examiner has identified the woman killed in a pedestrian crash in Kaneohe as 32-year-old Tasha Nicole Madela.

The ME says she died of blunt force injuries after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

A vehicle hit Madela while she was walking in the middle of Kamehameha Highway at around 2 a.m. on July 18. That driver stopped to help her but another vehicle, believed to be a dump truck, hit her and drove off. Madela was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second driver who struck Madela still has not been found. Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call Honolulu Police immediately.
