Vilas County plane crash leaves passenger with minor injuries [Video]

LAND O’ LAKES, Wis. (WSAW) – The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office said a plane crashed near Land O’ Lakes Sunday morning.

A 911 call came into Vilas County dispatch at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday for a plane crash near County Highway B and the Land O’ Lakes Post Office.

The 67-year-old pilot from Watersmeet, Michigan was not hurt. A passenger in the plane had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Several state, local, and federal agencies responded to the scene, including the Land O’ Lakes Fire Department, Vilas County Emergency Government, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, National Traffic Safety Bureau, Federal Aviation Administration, and the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
