Walmart Recalls More Than 50,000 Vegetable Choppers [Video]

If you’ve recently purchased a new vegetable chopper from Walmart, you may want to check it against this recall. 

On April 4, 2024, Walmart announced its recall of the “Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers” due to an increased risk of laceration. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, “The chopper’s blade can operate unexpectedly during assembly or when not enclosed in the container, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.” 

According to the Food Poisoning Bulletin, Walmart has received five reports of injuries on the product that is exclusively sold in its stores. Two of those injuries required medical attention and stitches. The injuries, Walmart explained in its recall notice, all occurred during assembly or during cleaning and handling of the chopper.
