HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Editor’s note: June is designated as Mens’ Health Month. Meanwhile, June 2 is the 37th annual National Cancer Survivors Day. FOX54 production assistant decided to share the story of his cancer treatment journey in the hopes that others going through a similar diagnosis may know they are not alone.

In 2024, it is estimated that more than 1 million men will be diagnosed with any type of cancer. Of those, 322,800 may die.

My name is Tyler McPherson. I’m 33 years old, and I’m a production assistant here at FOX54. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 testicular cancer in May 2021 when husband Chase and I were living and working for the Fox affiliate in Cape Coral, Fla.
