WATERBURY, Conn. — Police are searching for a driver who hit and killed a man before driving away in Waterbury overnight Saturday.
Officers responded to Chase Avenue after 2 a.m. Saturday for a report of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian.
Arriving officers found the victim, identified as Dwayne Hunter, 46, of Waterbury, in the roadway.
Hunter was taken to an area hospital where he later died, police said.
The vehicle that hit Hunter left the scene, police said.
This crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call Waterbury police’s Crash Reconstruction Unit at (203) 346-3975.
