The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday for strong thunderstorms until 5:30 p.m. for Tioga County.

Residents can expect wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

“At 5:05 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Mansfield, moving east at 20 mph,” according to the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”

Locations impacted by the alert include Lawrenceville, Millerton, Tioga, Roseville and Tioga Junction.

According to the weather service, “If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.”
