Weekend kitchen fire calls KC crews to home near Worlds of Fun [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A kitchen fire in Kansas City over the weekend called crews to a home near Worlds of Fun.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department says that around 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, emergency crews were called to the 4600 block of N. Denver Ave., near Worlds of Fun, with reports of a house fire.

When first responders arrived, they said they found smoke billowing from a single-story home. An interior attack was started with a single hose as searches of the building came back clear.

KCFD noted that all occupants were able to safely self-evacuate, and no injuries were reported as a result.

Investigators indicated that the fire started in the kitchen, however, its cause remains under investigation.
