Wellness expo dedicated to Lisa Left Eye Lopes held in metro Atlanta [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

A wellness expo in honor of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was held at the Atrium in Stone Mountain Sunday.

Lopes, a member of the Grammy Award-winning group TLC, was a health and wellness advocate.

Lopes’ family spoke exclusively with Atlanta News First at the event.

“Most people know Lisa visited Honduras, and Dr. Sebi and the village to cleanse, and you know, just to reset, you know, reset your body,” said her sister, Reigndrop Lopes.

Lopes was killed in a car crash while overseas in 2002. She was open about her mental health struggle and spiritual journey prior to her death.

The Lisa Lopes Foundation organized the event to promote health, wellness and community.

Lopes’ brother Ron is president of the foundation. He says this is the first year they’ve held the event.
