West Fargo students practice emergency reunification [Video]

WEST FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – West Fargo Public Schools is keeping students prepared for emergency scenarios. They held a simulated reunification exercise for some elementary students on Friday.

Deer Creek Elementary School students evacuated the building for a fire drill and were then brought to Rustad Recreation Center, which is a few miles north of the school.

The district says they practice full-scale emergency scenarios each year to be prepared in case of a real emergency.

“It’s just so important. Safety is something that we talk a lot about at the school district and things can look really good on paper but we learn a lot when we are able to walk through our practices so we really appreciate their willingness to allow us to take their kids out of school for a couple of hours in the morning to run this through,” said Heather Leas with West …
