Witnesses: Pro-Palestinian protestor shot, killed man in Phoenix [Video]

PHOENIX — 12News is uncovering new details on the shooting investigation Phoenix Police describe as stemming from a “first-amendment demonstration” on the night of July 4th. 12News spoke with a family member of the man who died, 51-year-old Paul Franco, and an ally of the group demonstrating near Steele Indian School Park last week.

Both people tell 12News that the person who fired the shots was part of a Pro-Palestinian protest and rally happening that night. A verbal altercation between Franco and the people at the rally began at Steele Indian School Park, where the Fabulous Phoenix Fourth firework show was commencing.

This argument then made its way a few blocks north to the Lex on Central, the apartment complex where Franco lived. The protestors were shouting from outside the walls of the apartment complex. …
