Woman arrested in Ohio in connection with deadly shooting near Bluegrass Community & Technical College [Video]

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington murder suspect was arrested Friday in Ohio.

Using the real-time intelligence center, Flock license plate readers, and traffic cameras, Lexington detectives were able to identify the suspect as 48-year-old Shawnika Gill.

The United States Marshals Service arrested Gill with help from an Ohio strike team and local deputies.

She’s in the Hamilton County Jail in Ohio, awaiting extradition to Lexington.

Gill is accused of shooting 48-year-old Antonio Taylor on Tuesday at Newtown Pike and Success Drive near Bluegrass Community & Technical College.

The Lexington Police Department told FOX 56 News that when they arrived, officials found a man, later identified as Taylor, with a life-threatening gunshot wound and transported him to a hospital for treatment. He later died at UK Hospital.
