Woman gets help from neighbors after house fire in Virginia [Video]

MONTCLAIR, Va. — It has been a long week for Patti Simpson and her family. 

Saturday night, she returned home from a quick trip to the store, to find her home up in flames.

Crews were called to the 16300 block of Taconic Circle, in the Montclair Mews community, after someone spotted flames and called 911.

“I received a text from one of my neighbors saying ‘I have Snow,’ my dog, and that’s when I started freaking out because I knew that it was my house,” said Simpson.

Simpson says she watched in horror as the flames tore through her home and several of her neighbor’s homes.

“I found a parking space and came up to one of the fire vehicles, and said ‘what is happening that’s my house,'” she said fighting back tears.
