WEST FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A woman charged for her role in a deadly crash in West Fargo changed her plea in court on Monday, April 8.
Taquoya Nike Saldana was charged with manslaughter and negligent homicide in the crash last April on Main Avenue and 17th Street East. The North Dakota Highway Patrol alleges Saldana was drinking and driving when she hit Thomas Fradet on his motorcycle.
The manslaughter charged was dismissed on Monday. The negligent homicide charge was amended to reckless endangerment, which Saldana pleaded guilty to.
According to the crash report, Saldana hit 31-year-old Fradet at a high rate of speed. He later died at the hospital. Saldana and her passenger were not hurt.
Saldana is scheduled to be sentenced on May 20, 2024.
