Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools leaders met for a workshop on the district’s Code of Character, Conduct, and Support on Tuesday.The workshop included board of education members, school leaders and superintendent Tricia McManus.The workshop provided a review of the code, data about its impact on schools and a question session.The Code of Character, Conduct, and Support was implemented in 2022. Just two school years later, education leaders are considering revisions to the code.The code emphasizes restorative interventions and consequences for students who exhibit bad behavior in school.On its website, WS/FCS defines restorative practices as “an emerging social science that studies how to strengthen relationships between individuals as well as develop social connections within communities.
