Xavier alums Schulte, Hurkett, provide stability and toughness for Hawkeye defense [Video]

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Senior safety Quinn Schulte has been a rock for the Iowa defense since he entered the starting lineup.

“That position is a glue position, just the linebacker spot. He’s got it cerebrally, the mental part is there,” said Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz. “I swear to God I walked through that locker room ten minutes before we get ready to play, and he’s always reading that notebook, it makes me nervous.”

“He’s that way all week long, he’s totally prepared. He plays at a high-level.”
