Cascade teen gifted sports prosthetic with the help of the Little Buddy Foundation [Video]

CASCADE, Iowa (KCRG) – Cascade eighth grader, Josie Green, has grown up playing all kinds of sports such as softball, volleyball and her favorite basketball.

“I don’t know what I would do in my life without them,” she said.

Recently, had to pause those activities.

“In November of 2022, I went to our local doctor. They thought I had a stress fracture. They found a cloudy spot on my x-ray, so we went to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and there I got diagnosed with osteosarcoma,” Green explained.

In the midst of battling bone cancer, she underwent several surgeries that led to her right leg being amputated.

“From there, it’s kind of been an uphill battle,” Green said.

For the past month, she’s been able to use her new sports prosthetic leg that was gifted to her by the Little Buddy Foundation.
