Does Jerome Ford deserve more credit for his play in 2023? (video)

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Once Nick Chubb suffered a torn MCL and damaged ACL in Week 2 of 2023, the Browns turned to Jerome Ford as their starting running back going forward. He rushed for 813 yards and four touchdowns that season.

Does he deserve more credit for his play during the 2023 season?

During the same game Chubb went down for the season, Ford delivered 106 rushing yards, including a 69-yard run, in the loss versus Pittsburgh.

It wasn’t until the post-bye week period when Ford produced at a solid rate with 84 yards on 17 carries (4.9 per carry) versus the 49ers, and 74 yards on 11 carries (6.7 per carry) and one touchdown versus the Colts.

It also should be noted that he was sharing carries with Kareem Hunt, who the Browns brought back almost immediately after Chubb was ruled out for the remainder of 2023.
