Lehigh Valley wrestling community mourns death of Easton grad, Stroudsburg AD Sean Richmond [Video]

The Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania wrestling communities are in mourning after the death of Easton Area High School graduate and Stroudsburg High School athletic director Sean Richmond.

Richmond reportedly died after an accident involving a tractor-trailer Saturday night in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County. According to a news release, the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an incident involving a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer around 6 p.m. Saturday near mile marker 1.4 on Interstate 380 North.

Richmond was a two-time state medalist as a wrestler at Easton. He continued his career at the University of Pittsburgh, where he became an EWL medalist and NCAA qualifier.

“We are shaken and saddened by the loss of Sean Richmond,” said the Easton athletic department in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Though his professional career took him and his family to Stroudsburg, Sean was still very much a part of our Easton family, maintaining close friendships and relationships with many.

“He will be greatly missed.”
