Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash with minivan on N.J. highway [Video]

A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash with a minivan in Cumberland County on Wednesday, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Nestor Rodriguez Jr., 38, of Millville, was riding west on Route 49 near Sunset Avenue in Fairfield Township around 9:45 a.m. when his motorcycle crossed the centerline and collided with an eastbound minivan, a police spokesman said.

Rodriguez died of his injures, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.

In a GoFundMe launched by his family to help with funeral expenses, Rodriguez was recalled as a father of two, a skilled barber and talented skater.

“Nestor was a beacon of joy, always spreading laughter wherever he went,” according to the post. “His presence was a gift, and he touched the lives of all who knew him.”

The post had raised nearly $7,000 as of Friday morning.
