English-American singer and musician Billy Idol opened up about his sobriety after years of being one of the most popular performers of the late 20th century.
Idol, however, admits he doesn’t abstain from alcohol entirely, but rather is “California sober,” meaning he still indulges in an occasional glass of wine.
“I can have a glass of wine every now and again,” Idol, 68, told People. “I don’t have to do nothing. But at the same time, I’m not the drug addict that I was in the peak ‘70s, ‘80s.
“I’m, I suppose, ‘California sober.’ I just tell myself I can do what I want, but then I don’t do it,” he added.
