West Coast Eagles midfielder Elijah Hewett reveals he could return in two weeks [Video]

Young Eagles favourite Elijah Hewett has revealed he could return in as little as two weeks after the first half of his season was derailed by a foot injury.

He also let slip defender Rhett Bazzo could also be close to a return.

Despite consulting a physiotherapist at the Australian Ballet in Melbourne during pre-season, the second-year midfielder was forced to have surgery to relieve sesamoiditis, the inflammation of the sesamoid bones in the ball of the foot.

However, the 20-year-old is recovering better than expected and excitedly revealed on West Coast’s Coast to Coast podcast he is two weeks away from being able to play.

“I’m doing incredibly well,” he told co-captain Oscar Allen.

“Two weeks to return to play from now, which previously I might have said to people in the off-season, but this one is generally feeling great.
